CERN Collider Rap

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

So the large hadron collider is about to be fired up in France and Switzerland.  The 26-mile oval-like, underground tube will help scientists determine, once and for all, the existence and behavior of anti-matter.

The collider will be switched on on the 10th of September - that is, if a group of irrate scientists, professors, and theorist from Switzerland, Austria, France, and Germany can’t stop the party. These concerned Eurozens think that the dangers of starting of the collider need to be considered more carefully - including the possibility that a black hole could swallow up the Earth. What’s more likely is that the scientists will better understand - and perhaps identify the elusive Higgs Boson particle.

Wind Turbines Explode Bats’ Lungs

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Researchers have found that approximately 2/3 of the winged creatures found dead near wind power turbines are bats.  The mystery was how the bats were killed. Most birds are killed from direct hits with the turbines, and often present external injuries, but according to recent findings, bats die due to the blood vessels in their lungs bursting. Find out how this happens in the video below.

Bill Clinton’s Speech at the Convention

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Bill Clinton addressed the Democratic National Convention tonight, on the third day of the Denver event. Former president Clinton dovetailed on the riveting speech given by his wife, New York Senator Hillary Clinton.

Clinton’s speech was considered to be the best of the convention, thus far (though, I may contend that Dennis Kucinich’s speech rivals Bill Clinton’s). Whatever the case, fmr. president Clinton’s speech contained some salient quips. The most memorable was this wonderful line, which will likely be recorded in the annals of history: “People the world over have always been more impressed by the power of our example than by the example of our power.”

There was no doubt last night that both Bill Clinton and former opponent Hillary fully support Obama as the next president. Where the election will head from here, nobody knows. See Part 1 below:

Dennis Kucinich Speech at 2008 Dem Convention

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

The 2008 Democratic National Convention is in full swing. Last night Michelle Obama gave a riveting speech to the throngs of faithful dems in the crowd. Tonight, Dennis Kucinich set the crowd on fire with his admonition to “wake up America.”

As we await the results of the coming speeches in Denver convention, I thought I’d attach a video excerpt of Dennis Kucinich’s speech on Tuesday. To be fair, Kucinich gave one of the best political speeches I have ever heard.

Video of the Mayan Underworld

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

An ancient Maya network of sacrificial temples in underground caves was recently discovered in Mexico’s Yucatan State.

The construction was presumably a portal for dead souls to pass into the underworld. According to National Geographic News, one cave featured a “300-foot (90-meter) concrete road that ends at a column standing in front of a body of water.”

The Maya believed that “the souls of the dead had to follow a dog with night vision on a horrific and watery path and endure myriad challenges before they could rest in the afterlife,” leading experts to speculate whether the underground world inspired the Maya mythology, or it was - in fact - Maya mythology that created these underground spaces.

Ron Paul’s Georgia War Prediction

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Ron Paul offers his prediction of Russia’s invasion of Georgia in this video from two years ago. The South Ossetia War of 2008 formally began on August 7, 2008 when Georgia attacked a disputed territory within its own country, which is dominated by supporters of Russia.
